Madison

Last weekend in Madison didn’t feel real.

We had the chance to open for Tame Impala at The Sylvee, and walking into that room during soundcheck was one of those quiet “how did we get here?” moments.

The stage felt massive. The lights, even during rehearsal, felt cinematic. Kevin and the crew were incredibly kind — calm, focused, dialed in. You could feel the intention behind everything.

When doors opened, the room filled fast. Madison showed up.

We built the set to ease people in — starting atmospheric, almost restrained. Slow Orbit into Glass Horizon, letting the textures sit before pushing the energy forward. There’s something intense about playing to a crowd that didn’t come specifically for you — you have to earn every second of their attention.

By the third song, it shifted.

Heads started nodding. A few phones came up. Then the cheers got louder between transitions. That moment — when you feel the audience lean toward you instead of away — that’s the one we chase.

Right before our last song, we looked at each other and just smiled. No overthinking. Just gratitude.

Opening for a band that shaped so much of our sonic world felt full circle. Psychedelia, space, groove — but also vulnerability. That’s something we’ll carry with us.

Madison, thank you for giving us that room and that energy.

And to everyone who came up after the set asking about the EP — March 1 is coming fast.
